How To Build Your Perfect Stack

When it comes to arm candy, you tend to need a strategic approach to tackling what you wear on your wrist. What finish? How many bracelets? What types? Cuffs? Bangles? Monograms?
Clearly, it can get overwhelming fast. Follow a few simple "rules", and you'll be sporting a perfect stack in no time.

1. Pick a finish.
Maybe you're a silver girl, or maybe more rose gold. Whatever you prefer, pick a finish and stick to it! I personally go for a classic gold, but select whatever finish you like the most {and matches the most of your jewelry!}.
2. Keep it classic.
A simple but elegant watch is the base for all killer arm candy, so pick something in your price range that keeps it clean. My watch is Kate Spade, but there are amazing ones from Michael Kors, Daniel Wellington, and Tory Burch. If you don't want to splurge, Target has lots of cheap dupes for designer watches.
3. Keep it simple.
When all your bracelets are different colors and sizes, your look will be the opposite of "put-together." More is less, so pick and choose your stack with care. I have a few basics I can always wear, such as my pearl bracelets from Forever21 {I got 8 for $5!} and my Alex and Ani bangle. Also, neutral no-crease hairties look cute and they're practical. Win-win!
4. Invest in key pieces.
If you're like me, you wear your watch. Every. Single. Day. Invest in quality pieces you know you'll be wearing day-in and day-out. Once purchased, take good care of them! They'll last you for years if you treat 'em right.

Hope you enjoyed!

Desk Tour

Hey everyone! With the homework that goes hand-in-hand with the return of school, keeping you desk organized is critical. For me, my desk is parallel with my life in general; messy desk, messy life! It's so important to keep yourself tidy and to know where everything is when it comes to your work area. Whether is finding a pen and a piece of paper, or just that you're OCD when it comes to organization, keeping your study space in shipshape will make doing your homework a breeze.
Today, I'll be giving you a quick tour of my desk and how I keep my area organized!
This is my current set-up. Personally, I love change and I constantly switch up my room. I recently place my desk {which is from Ikea} at the foot of my bed, and I love the look! I prefer to keep my desk clutter-free and only have a few select items on it at a time.
Now that it's September, flu & cold season will be upon us soon! I have this pretty box of tissues and a DIY word jar filled with cough drops of the right corner of my desk, so that a snuffy nose won't slow me down!
My chair, which is also Ikea, has a comfy back rest and is easy to turn.
Also, I have my current favorite "coffee table" book and a cup of tea on the left corner. The book is all about the designs of Yves Saint Laurent, who is my favorite designer!
The desk's drawer is amazing, because it's so long {but not very deep}. I can easily see everything stored in my desk at once, and I never have to root around for anything!
Here I have some of my favorite desk essentials. The zebra stationary is from Target {and is to DIE for!} and this nautical themed sticky note set is from Staples. Both definitely brighten up any day!
Next comes the center of my drawer. Here I keep my agenda, notebooks, and my file folder. All the gold accents really make the drawer super cute!
When it comes to pens and pencils, I hate wasting time searching my room and backpack for a certain one. To banish this problem from ever interrupting my homework again, I simply gathered every pen, pencil, glue stick, eraser, marker, and highlighter I could find and stuck 'em into this Clinique makeup bag. Problem solved!
Stationary - one of my weaknesses. These cards were just too cute when I discovered them and I couldn't say no! I love writing letters {even though I don't have much time to}. These gold zebras were just calling my name!

Thanks for reading!

Gold on Black on Brown

Yikes! Long time no post, but school & sports have been hectic. Since there's a long weekend ahead, I'll definitely be playing catch-up on my posts!
To hold you all over until then, I have a mini ootd just to switch things up a bit!
